Roman Baby Shower

We are looking forward to many more sessions with this fun young family!  Spending the day capturing Tina and Brandon's Baby Shower was a sweet family event.  One of our favorite parts was the blessing tree.  Family and friends wrote wishes and blessings for the baby and hung them on the tree.  So sweet to read all the well wishes for this very loved baby.  Watch for the newborn photos which will be up here in about 2 months!

Met some families at the waterpark

I used the 35mm 1:1.8G and also used a polar 52mm filter.

This was my first time using a filter with water.  WOAH, I really love this filter.  No sparkley water - which is sometimes nice when you are going for that... but I wanted to not have it and it was full sun.  I wondered if I would get anything workable.  The photo above, of Max, is my new favorite photograph.  I love how I managed to get some under the water legs to show up... I love that is is washed out but still has details.  I love that there was no glare.

The two below are a brother and sister.  I am really pleased with how the shots are different - but similar enough for Mom to want to hang them by each other.  These were also taken with the filter.  LOVE the borrowed filter.

Whole family with new baby

This is still one of my favorite family shoots.  Grandparents up from Florida.  I asked them all to wear white shirts and asked that mom and dad have really clean feet (that was a weird request).  Top one is sister and brother.  Next up is new grandson with the hands of his grandparents holding him.
Then Mom and Dad and new baby feet, then just Mom's family and I love the one below where Baby is giving me the eye.

Pop goes the weasel

I grabbed 2 of my boys and headed down to the Detroit River walk yesterday.  I borrowed Monique's 24mm lens and wanted very very badly to shoot the river with it.  The last shot of Sage Pointing to the bridge is taken with it.  I did almost nothing to the photograph.  I photoshopped out some joggers and dodged(lightened) up Sage's entire body a bit.  I think I took 30 shots that look nearly identical, I was so in love with what I was getting.  I did not take notes of all my settings, however, I think I may try to do that and keep a record here.

My Photography business went "live" this week.  I did a lot of pacing and fretting.  I think I should have organized my photos better before I needed to access certain groups.  I am finally happy (mostly happy) with my watermark.  I changed it many times...  and then had to go through and change it again.  Happy to report I have already booked a sitting and have 2 quotes going out today.

Thank you Candlewick

HooDoo Candles from Coventry Creations and I went out to a gorgeous old cemetery in Pontiac for an updated photo shoot.  We went with cement artist Angela Barboza-Ryan from Bhakti Designs to set up and capture the entire line.  After, we went to downtown Ferndale to get some couples to pose to pose with us for the "Adam and Steve"  and  "Alice and Eve" love candles.  That was so much fun!  I love meeting new people on the street through photography.

40/50th birthday Tash sneak peek

What a fun honor to photograph the party of a brother and sister hitting 2 different decade markers.
The backyard was full of twinkle lights and flowers.  The people were care free and fun.  A good time for everyone.
